Savageland is a "found photograph horror movie" this means that instead of it being found footage it is a series of scary photographs. This is a lie the movie is no special new genre but actually a pretty standard mockumentary which flashes up photos and then explains then. The plot here is centered as a true crime documentary on the media circus surrounding the trial of Francisco Salazar. Francisco Salazar lived in the Arizona Bordertown of Sangre De Cristo until sudden all 57 people in it were brutally murdered and only Francisco survived covered in blood. Francisco admitted to dismembering a few bodies but claimed they had already died and the rest were killed by monsters. The prosecution claims this is BS and hes obviously the killer, while libs claim this is institutional racism as facts don't line up and the people are just blaming him because hes an illegal migrant. Eventually they find Francisco 's camera roll which shows photos of mass carnage, strange zombie creatures, and other unholy images.
This sounds like an exciting movie until you realize half of it is sneeding over institutional racism and showing the white chuds talk about how this is why we need border control. With i guess the demon zombie attack representing how white supremacist amerikka would rather blame brown people rather then address issues. This allegory makes no sense as why would anyone have any reason to believe Francisco? If a white guy admitted to killing people but claimed they were vampires he would be considered at best insane. I really don't know how its racism to not believe him. There is some attempts at centrism as there is a black guy who claims the zombie photos are actually the KKK (because you know the Klan's memo of dismembering and eating non whites) which seems to imply that both sides are denying the truth but again who would believe in zombies.
The mockumentary ends with the reveal that similar attacks are happening increasingly northward and shows found footage of some campers being attacked by a zombified Francisco (he has previously be executed and buried). With the implication the government is covering this up because reasons. This begs the question of why even make a true crime documentary if there is a zombie hoard tearing up the American west. It also goes against the pro immigration anti racism themes as its a mexican zombie hoard traveling from the boarder meaning stronger border patrol would have stopped this and it also means chuds are right to fear mexicans as they might be zombies.
Really the issue here is that the movie doesn't use the photograph angle well at all. It takes over halfway through the movie until you see the first one and the movie just flashes it on screen for a few seconds before explaining each one in detail. IMO the appeal of a horror photograph is that there is a lot more uncertainly then with footage you have no idea what's a weird camera error or an actual monster and I wish the movie played up the uncertainty more rather having it be explicitly demon zombies. Really I think they should have done full found footage to be scarier or had more subtle photos where it forces the viewer to look for the weirdness and come to their own conclusion like the creepypasta anomaly. Really the movie is no different then any other horror mockumentary just with lots of left wing sperging. The allegory makes no sense in the context of the issue its discussing, illegal immigration and racial bias in courts, and if anything the zombie twist actively goes against the anti racist themes.
The only real positive I can give here is that the zombies are cool. They aren't slow shambling brain eating viral guys but instead some form of demonic force. Where anyone who dies is resurrected as a feral monster which utterly brutalizes and maims anyone they across.

See argument below:
I dont recall the number but it was an outrageous amount we were spending on housing . But housing is cheap in detroit . We could put 1 person to a bedroom and ship them to Detroit and BAM . Virtue maintained and problems cured . Its a win for everyone they get a free house in an area inundated with the drugs they are seeking and we get less fecal matter on the street . I would actually support this if this was how we wanted to spend money to address homelessness .
It makes sense. Ship them to all those abandoned row homes in shithole drug addled cities like Baltimore, Dayton, Detroit etcβ¦.
Tax corporate jets and country clubs.
So we can spend more money on policies that clearly arent working?
That's because Woodward policies aren't actually meant to solve homelessness, they're meant to make the problem worse so people will keep voting for her.
Spokane has been run by republicans for decades, maybe we should give the other side a chance.
What? I thought we were talking about Seattle?

In mid-2021, Jon Stewart infuriated his liberal flock - and visibly frightened Colbert - by saying he thought "lab leak" was the most likely COVID origin.
