The film unofficially parodies characters from the Batman comics, and the main character is a transgender woman based on the Joker, played by Drew. The film also features Scott Aukerman, Tim Heidecker, Maria Bamford, David Liebe Hart, Robert Wuhl, and Bob Odenkirk in supporting roles

In a dystopian world monitored by Batman, a young child grows up in Smallville, Kansas idolizing the performers on a sketch comedy program, UCB Live. The unnamed protagonist's mother is disturbed when her child asks, "Was I born in the wrong body?" and immediately books a session with Dr. Crane of Arkham Asylum, who prescribes Smylex: a drug that forces its users to put on a happy face, even if they feel depression, anxiety, or gender dysphoria.

They set up in an abandoned warehouse at a dilapidated carnival and are quickly joined by a number of law-breaking comedians with their own deliberately unfunny and uncomfortable acts. As the duo evade guards at the chemical plant, a retired Batman appears to stop them and it leaves Mr. J shaken. While the protagonist finally feels happy for the first time after emerging from the chemicals, Mr. J reveals that his ex is Batman. The crimefighter adopted orphan Carrie Kelley and trained her to be his sidekick Robin, even assisting with a gender transition to the identity of Jason Todd, but their relationship became toxic and sexual, in spite of their large age difference and the fact that Batman was a father figure to the seventeen year old.

Hickory bit honey. I had just gone into my bedroom to take a nap. My husband and two sons were in the living room with the dogs. The dogs were fine. Then my daughter came home. Honey immediately ran to greet her, as did Hickory. The next thing I heard was a dog screaming and my husband screaming, “NO!! NO!! STOP!!” I ran out, and Hickory had Honey by the head. Right as I got to them, he shook her. I put pressure behind his jaw and he immediately let go of her and backed away. I had both dogs by the collar and told my husband to take Hickory to another part of the house away from Honey while I assessed her wounds. Two punctures on her ear lobe, and a puncture on her cheek. We called the vet and got instructions to care for her. The dogs are separated in different areas of the house, with strict instructions about who is to play with him, because we have a 5 year old child who is obsessed with him. We are flabbergasted. The meet and greet with them went well. We contacted a friend of ours who runs a pit rescue. We DO NOT want to take him back to the kill shelter. I fricking feel HORRIBLE. I feel like I failed Hickory, Honey, my family, and the shelter. I'm literally sick about it.

Both dogs were on leashes. Unfortunately, they both ran to see my daughter at the same time, and I'm guessing the poor guy was just overstimulated . He is NOT a bad boy. He is a sweet, sweet guy. I've been in contact with my vet and some friends who do rescue. One is a veterinarian that specifically does pibbles. Humphrey had a hard time at first, too. He was terrified and reactive to men. It took a lot of work, but he did fine. We currently have the dogs in separate halves of the house. They can see and hear each other, but can't get to each other.

If you can't reasonably keep them separated for a bit, then for everyone's safety, return to the shelter but please do not tell them about the bite because it'll be an instant death sentence. Just say your dog wasn't getting along with him and it wasn't a good fit.

Because it may have been a relatively "simple" matter (although ADMITTEDLY Terrifying!) matter of resource guarding.💖 Both dogs were FINE, and doing reasonably well together UNTIL your Daughter walked in. She was a NEW human, and therefore a NEW resource for both dogs. He wanted the resource (remember, he hasn't HAD many resources to call his OWN in who knows how long, living in a shelter!💖), and he was trying to protect that resource (even though the resource was your DAUGHTER!), from Honey. Work with your vet, work with your friend who's been with the rescue, AND see if there's anyone GOOD locally, who works in Behavior, who you guys can tap in for advice!💝 You're very much still in that FIRST Three, of the 3-3-3 rule, correct? For now, YES, ABSOLUTELY keep the kids away unless you're next to them, keep the dogs separate but able to see/smell & get used to each other, and then take it slowly and assess each step!💖 This MAY be a deal-breaker, OR it may be a simple blip. Time, patience, and careful observation will tell you which one it truly is!

For many, many years, I've recorded that my girls outperform the boys by a wide margin. In my case, the measured difference between them is so large that I cannot help but think something is wrong with our boys, particularly after I also account for their general behavior.

Hello, long term lurker, first time poster. I have to tell someone this because it's been eating at me and I can't tell anyone else about in real life, not even my best friend.

About two years ago, I was dating this guy, I'm gonna call Shane for simplicity. Shane was 26 and really sweet, one of the nicest guys I have ever dated. There was a lot to like about him (good looking, in shape, had the same style of humor and hobbies as me, a great career, his own place in a nice city, etc) and I really, truly, loved him at one point. However, there was one thing I did not like about him and that was his consumption of porn. Even when I asked him to stop watching porn, he couldn't stop for more than a few days before he was back at it again. He would do it because he claimed he needed it to relax and go to sleep. He wouldn't watch porn whenever I visited him, but whenever I wasn't there, he would. I could always tell when he was watching porn because he would, out of the blue, start sending me a ton of super sexual text messages, and wouldn't stop until he came. Part of me doesn't want to be honest with them because it's embarrassing, but the other part of me worries if some of my friends won't try to convince me that being into porn and anal s*x is good, actually, and that I should stop being a prude.

The other reason I'm posting this is because I haven't found another guy that was as good as Shane. Every guy I've dated since Shane has been meh. It makes me angry that Shane was perfect in just about every way, except his porn habits. Why did he have to be such a freak? We could be married by now if he hadn't been such a coomer.

This sub gets too caught up in optics. The reality is repression is effective. It may strengthen passive activism and sympathy, but those people don't do a thing. They're not a problem. The disgraced movie producer was convicted of r*pe in February 2020.

The r*pe conviction of movie producer Harvey Weinstein has been overturned by New York's highest court.

The New York Court of Appeals, in a 4-3 opinion, overturned Weinstein's conviction on s*x crimes against three women, finding the trial judge "erroneously admitted testimony of uncharged, alleged prior sexual acts against persons other than the complainants of the underlying crimes."

The court said that testimony "served no material non-propensity purpose" and "portrayed defendant in a highly prejudicial light."

Weinstein, 72, was a well-known, powerful man within the entertainment industry and prosecutors said he abused his power to take advantage of aspiring female actors, like the alleged victims, to coerce them into unwanted sexual encounters. According to the prosecution, the quid pro quo of assisting them with their careers in exchange for sexual favors on demand was both common behavior and a well-known secret throughout the film industry.

Prosecutors said the testimony of women other than those whose claims formed the basis of the criminal charges spoke to Weinstein's state of mind to use forcible compulsion. The majority opinion, however, said that eviscerated the time-tested rule against propensity evidence, "which, in criminal cases, serves as a judicial bulwark against a guilty verdict based on supposition rather than proof."

Weinstein remains in prison. The Manhattan district attorney's office could decide to retry him.

Weinstein was also convicted of s*x offenses in Los Angeles and sentenced to 16 years in prison there.

If the question was how people could love a god that allowed for evil it would be one thing, but being religious just means adhering to a religion. I left this open because there's simply no way of not looking suspicious otherwise.

However, as usual, the comments and general lack of knowledge astound me. Heck, I'm surprised at the shear quantity of scathing comments regarding the pricing. Competition exists, just buy a cheaper brand? Watercool is always cheaper and the quality is solid, why just hate on a brand for no reason if you have no intention of buying their product anyway? Either way, regardless of the outcome of all this, very disappointing news, and very disappointing seeing what this sub can be like.

This kind of scandal NEVER ends well in communities as small as these. Larger companies can get away with this kind of shit because most people don't know/care. Spaces as small as watercooling? Word gets around fast because almost everyone is keeping an eye/ear out. A different scandal happened in the home theater space where Lexicon got caught taking cheap products from other companies and slapping their own label on them without changing anything (except the price by a factor of 10x), ruined their reputation permanently and now the brand is essentially dead weight in Harman's lineup. Didn't matter that they had made some of the finest home theater equipment in the past, the brand's reputation was effectively ruined. With the half-assed apology and the fact that EK has already been slipping in terms of quality over the years, I can't see them coming back from this. Will they still be around? Perhaps, but I don't think they'll be nearly as big as they once were in the industry after this and there's no way that whatever crawls out of the ashes is going to be able to offer anything even remotely close to their current catalog. They'll have their loyalists I'm sure but there's no way they'll be able to maintain the brand as it stands.

To fully grasp the current situation in San Francisco, where venture capitalists are trying to take control of City Hall, you must listen to Balaji Srinivasan. Before you do, steel yourself for what's to come: A normal person could easily mistake his rambling train wrecks of thought for a crackpot's ravings, but influential Silicon Valley billionaires regard him as a genius.

“Balaji has the highest rate of output per minute of good new ideas of anybody I've ever met,” wrote Marc Andreessen, co-founder of the V.C. firm Andreessen-Horowitz, in a blurb for Balaji's 2022 book, The Network State: How to Start a New Country. The book outlines a plan for tech plutocrats to exit democracy and establish new sovereign territories. I mentioned Balaji's ideas in two previous stories about Network State–related efforts in California—a proposed tech colony called California Forever and the tech-funded campaign to capture San Francisco's government.

Balaji, a 43-year-old Long Island native who goes by his first name, has a solid Valley pedigree: He earned multiple degrees from Stanford University, founded multiple startups, became a partner at Andreessen-Horowitz and then served as chief technology officer at Coinbase. He is also the leader of a cultish and increasingly strident neo-reactionary tech political movement that sees American democracy as an enemy. In 2013, a New York Times story headlined “Silicon Valley Roused by Secession Call” described a speech in which he “told a group of young entrepreneurs that the United States had become ‘the Microsoft of nations': outdated and obsolescent.”

“The speech won roars from the audience at Y Combinator, a leading start-up incubator,” reported the Times. Balaji paints a bleak picture of a dystopian future in a U.S. in chaos and decline, but his prophecies sometimes fall short. Last year, he lost $1 million in a public bet after wrongly predicting a massive surge in the price of Bitcoin.

Still, his appetite for autocracy is bottomless. Last October, Balaji hosted the first-ever Network State Conference. Garry Tan—the current Y Combinator CEO who's attempting to spearhead a political takeover of San Francisco—participated in an interview with Balaji and cast the effort as part of the Network State movement. Tan, who made headlines in January after tweeting “die slow motherlovers” at local progressive politicians, frames his campaign as an experiment in “moderate” politics. But in a podcast interview one month before the conference, Balaji laid out a more disturbing and extreme vision.

“What I'm really calling for is something like tech Zionism,” he said, after comparing his movement to those started by the biblical Abraham, Jesus Christ, Joseph Smith (founder of Mormonism), Theodor Herzl (“spiritual father” of the state of Israel), and Lee Kuan Yew (former authoritarian ruler of Singapore). Balaji then revealed his shocking ideas for a tech-governed city where citizens loyal to tech companies would form a new political tribe clad in gray t-shirts. “And if you see another Gray on the street … you do the nod,” he said, during a four-hour talk on the Moment of Zen podcast. “You're a fellow Gray.”

The Grays' shirts would feature “Bitcoin or Elon or other kinds of logos … Y Combinator is a good one for the city of San Francisco in particular.” Grays would also receive special ID cards providing access to exclusive, Gray-controlled sectors of the city. In addition, the Grays would make an alliance with the police department, funding weekly “policeman's banquets” to win them over.

“Grays should embrace the police, okay? All-in on the police,” said Srinivasan. “What does that mean? That's, as I said, banquets. That means every policeman's son, daughter, wife, cousin, you know, sibling, whatever, should get a job at a tech company in security.”

In exchange for extra food and jobs, cops would pledge loyalty to the Grays. Srinivasan recommends asking officers a series of questions to ascertain their political leanings. For example: “Did you want to take the sign off of Elon's building?”

This refers to the August 2023 incident in which Elon Musk illegally installed a large flashing X logo atop Twitter headquarters, in violation of building safety codes. City inspectors forced him to remove it. This was the second time Musk had run afoul of the city in his desire to refurbish his headquarters: In July, police briefly halted his attempt to pry the “Twitter” signage from the building's exterior. But in Balaji's dystopia, he implies that officers loyal to the Grays would let Musk do as he pleases (democratically inclined officers, he suggests, can be paid to retire).

Simply put, there is a ton of fascist-chic cosplay involved. Once an officer joins the Grays, they get a special uniform designed by their tech overlords. The Grays will also donate heavily to police charities and “merge the Gray and police social networks.” Then, in a show of force, they'll march through the city together.
