One statistical issue that's crossed my mind: In counties like the US that have been hit hard by COVID, a significant portion of the *unvaccinated* population will have some degree of immunity from a previous infection. That could make vaccines seem superficially less effective.

Apple is planning to scan users' phones for illegal files by comparing against hashes of known files. This is already done when you send attachments in email, but if I understand correctly now they'll look at every file on your device.
