Got pretty drunk last night and trying to taper off this hangover with some white claws. That's because you're not focusing on the actually important complaints. The devs have said over and over that they would not have a historical figure as a main character out of respect. It is not a coincidence that the character to buck this trend is the one black man on the entire archipelago. (10)

I'll agree that Yasuke being a main playable character strikes me as pandering, but he's also a very interesting historical character to base your narrative around and it allows the player to play as a stranger in a strange land, and it's ultimately not doing any harm to any groups, so why is everyone so mad about seeing a minority lead character in a AAA game. There's a lot of other games about white characters in out of place lands that no one has cried out over, so why is there so much butthurt when it's a black guy in a foreign land? I'm not saying explicitly that y'all are racist, but it's mighty suspicious that mfers are so mad (3)

Made friends while rockclimbing earlier this year, good group of guys, sans one that gets a little too close, goes out of their way to do the "gay ironically" bit, starts singling out my girlfriend to be friendly toward. I'm not r-slurred, she is apparently.

She's like "can you believe that xxx wants me to go to the gym with him and help him approach a crush, I thought he was gay!" and other things that remind me why women are underdiagnosed for autism.

Anyway, after telling her its obvious he likes her and I don't think he's the type to respect boundaries, she keeps taking him at face value, and he asks her last night if she wants to frick the next time she works from home. She tells me I was right about him and said I could look through the messages if I wanted, like I need confirmation that men shoot their shot when they see an opening.

Reach out to the guy personally, he avoids my call, obviously. Post in a shared chat later that day asking if folks are downtown, he calls me a cute twink for using a group chat he's in "after he tried banging my gf" and he leaves the chat before I can reply.

Social dynamics at play are 1) he's been in this friend group since high school and we're all in our 30s 2) I've hung out with these guys a couple times over the past few months, since I had to stop working out for a bit after breaking my leg this year. I'm 90% sure I'm not gonna hear from these dudes again because the potential drama's too r-slurred.
