My grandmother died three months ago in a very strange, almost suicidal way. She had been living in a cabin in Florida with no air-conditioning or kitchen, and what little she did have she'd spend it on alcohol. After ignoring her medical problems for months, it finally turned into sepsis and overwhelmed her immune systems. We were told by some affirmative action hire doctor that we had six months, then the week after she had a month. On Monday, we were told it may happen next week, Wednesday we were told she needed hospice care. That following Sunday morning she was dead. It was strange to see someone who had raised me die scared.

When the hospice nurse came in on the preceding Monday, and asked what was going to happen, it had me floored. The almost profane innuendo of whether my grandmother was ready to die or whether we were going to pay for a risky treatment was insane. When my grandmother looked at me, tired and scared, I had to walk out, and I regret that profoundly. We as a family asked for more time, and we were told we could wait till noon. My mother came out and asked me to sit with my grandmother, and oddly lucid she said she was ready. I don't think she meant it, but I think she wanted to be tough in front of me as best as she could.

I think about her every day.

I am grateful for my grandfather, who reads the Bible with me and is a spiritual guide. I am grateful that my last words were said out of love. I'm grateful I got to blow her a kiss when I last saw her. I pray for her, and I pray I get to see her again. I hope that wherever she is, she is happy, and resting.

If only it were that simple…. 1) to meet the conditions to access the def shred you need at least 250 Break effect, which is already subtracting from the crit rolls available to you, you're already on the back foot2) def shred and vulnerability multiply your final dmg meaning they scale better the more dmg% and crit you build. If the initial damage in the formula is low af, higher multipliers won't mean anything. I'll paint you a picture 51 is lesser 33. There needs to be a balance between multiplier and dmg%/crit. Or your def shred and vulnerability are just going to be working with peanuts3)2 turn energy Ult to enter enhanced state right, if you build her for crit you just turned her to Jingliu who gets her Enhanced state in 2 turns as well.But your fire Jingliu has no crit rate buff nor self atk buff making it a watered down version with less actions per enhanced state. (3)

I'm probably alone here but I just can't bring myself to think couples who have been together since high school are sweet or inspirational. Getting married young limits your experience as an individual to exposure of different perspectives in relationships. You never were given the chance to develop your own identity that could lead to potential challenges and personal growth and self discovery by staying inside of the only “box” you've known your likely going to miss out on opportunities for personal and professional growth that come from exploring different paths.

I know a couple who met in high school, they dated for 7 years before they got married. They were aware it was young but they had stayed pretty consistent through thick and thin. I talked to my friend about it once asking him if he was worried about marrying his high school sweetheart and bowing out of the dating pool so early and he said something along the lines of “yeah I know the stigma and it probably would be ideal if we met a bit later but what am I going to do? Break up with somebody whom I love and am extremely compatible with just because we met in high school?”
