Schooling:

For context she wanted to add an agenda item about requiring contractors to pay for construction workers parking, and needed a second vote to bring it to the table. I'm guessing she's trying to earn some construction goodwill after an attempt to hurt their jobs a couple years ago. They had some fun with her in the style of her loud supporters.

She's facing a recall vote this year for bringing a bunch of protestors into the locked city hall during lockdown and doxing the mayor's confidential home address after marching protestors to it.

There are plenty of other cases of her being the center of local drama, like the time she opposed a symbolic resolution to make the non-commie Vietnamese flag the official flag for the viet community, because colonialism.

An argument often bandied about is that forcing children to undergo a massively significant biological process that permanently changes their body and defines societal expectations of them in perpetuity is foolish, and that letting children themselves decide whether to undergo it is also foolish because children are fricking stupid and lack the worldliness and experience necessary to comprehend the long-term consequences of going down such a path.

This is all very true and impossible to disagree with. The consequences can and often do have devastating, largely irreversible effects on the child. If they realize later on in life that they’re actually another gender, proponents claim, then they can seek mitigating treatment as an adult.

And this is why puberty blockers should be mandatory for all children. Cessation of puberty blockers will allow the body to develop “naturally” if the patient ends up vibing with their assigned gender. And if they don’t, well, they’ve been saved a lifetime of pain and suffering and ostracization caused by the irreversible effects of going through biological processes for the wrong gender. Puberty can’t be reversed, but it can be delayed until people are of sufficient age to make the choice themselves. Literally everyone wins with mandatory puberty blockers for all children and opposition to the concept relies solely on arguments that are actually in favor of it.
